Note: Oliver Clare was born in Birmingham, England, the son artist George Clare and brother of Vincent Clare. The Clare family specialized in still life and flower paintings, and some of George Clare's work was also used for advertising through postcards and posters. His paintings were exhibited through the Royal Society of Artists in Birmingham, the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, the Manchester City Art Gallery, and the Royal Academy in London.
